For the past 7 years I a 62 year old woman, have endured many hardships, including but not limited to , breast cancer and subsequent treatment, an abusive husband , who I divorced following treatment, the death of both of my parents and extreme financial hardship during all of the above. I was homeless during treatment for breast cancer because I could not endure treatment living with my abusive husband.

I survived by the good graces of friends, who allowed me to sleep on couches and endured the manifestations of cancer treatment.

When treatment was completed I returned to my home to find it completely unlivable due to the neglect and / or will full destruction of my then husband. I filed for divorce, was assaulted very violently , by my husband, a month prior to the divorce being final.

He was ordered to leave the premises in 2004 but failed to do so. I, still recuperating and dealing with a newly diagnosed health issue, while still required to make frequent trips from Arizona to my California doctors did my best to intermittently take care of my very ill parents who then died within a year of each other in 2005 and 2006, My ex continued to damage the house and when finally, borrowing money from friends, I sought remedy through the court, he was again ordered to leave in 2007,again he failed to do so but finally vacated in 2008.It has taken me until now to finish 90% of what needed to be done to make the house livable, has taken every penny I received by re-financing and has put me into debt to boot.

Now at the end of my financial rope I could loose it all and again be homeless, due to a recent loss of income and more unexpected expenses. I am unemployed, have been very actively seeking employment to no avail, as well as going through a county program to gain marketable skills, only to be recently told, after months of doing all they asked , that they would not provide funding unless I can prove to them that I , at my age , would be employable, after 2 years of training.

To top things off I now have another possibly serious health issue. Needless to say I am terrified and in dire need of financial help. I have applied for a Pell grant hoping to go to school to gain the skills necessary to find gainful employment, hoping too that the county case worker is wrong and I am employable. I need $30,000., to get myself out of debt and to provide enough cushion to survive until I am out of school, which I'm hoping to begin in January. If anyone out there can find it in their heart to help, I pledge to give any money above my needs to others in need. I would also gladly supply proof of all the above, knowing it sounds like a soap opera but is unfortunately my present reality. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
