Help me so I can help others!

Hello. I am honored that you are taking your
time to read about me, so I want to thank you in
advance. I am a 27 year old female and could
really use some help. I am struggling and feel
like the hole is only getting deeper even though I am
working hard to get myself out. I am not one to
ask for help, but I feel that I have come to a point
where I have no other choice.
I am a graduate of UNH where I earned my BSW with
honors. I have a pretty good job (however social
services does not pay very well). I have to work
a second job in order to pay my bills, and yes I am
still struggling. Student loans take a good
chunk of my income. However, I have no regrets.
I love what I do and helping others is what I am all
about. |

My biggest struggle is helping my mother. She is
battling cancer for the second time, and I try to help
her as much as I can, although I would like to do
more. The first time she dealt with this awful
disease, she couldn’t do anything for herself.
We switched rolls and I became the caregiver.
This took a lot of time, effort, and money on my part,
but I would do it again if I had to. My mother
is the most important person in my life and I will do
whatever I need to in order to keep her happy and
healthy. |

At age 25, I finally moved out on my own. After
looking at my budget and re-evaluating a few things, I
managed to make it work. I had a great living
situation until my roommate relapsed and started using
drugs again. Having had a cousin that passed
away from this same situation, I couldn’t watch it
happen again. So, I had to ask her to leave.
This put me in a bad spot. I had to pay on my
own and that hurt me. I finally got another
roommate; however he just informed me that he will be
moving out in a couple months, she now I am back to
square one. I am too stressed out and tired to
go through this process again. I love my
apartment and don’t want to have to move, but I
don’t know what to do anymore. |

And yes I do have some credit card debt. I admit
that some of this is from buying myself something, but
I believe that I am a hard worker and I deserve
something extra sometimes. Most of the debt is
because it is all I had to purchase necessities. |
|
If you would help me, I will pay it forward.
Once I am back on my feet and in a good spot, one of
my dreams is to open some sort of foundation of my
own. I have not decided what exactly, but a
couple of ideas are a branch of a cancer society or a
type of make a wish foundation. |
|
I live by the saying that everything happens for a
reason. I believe there is a reason I am writing
this and that it will all work out for me.
Sometimes you just have to take a chance and this is
mine. |
|
So all I ask is for a little help. If you can
reach into your heart and give whatever you can, I
will be able to reach into mine. Every penny
helps, so please, do whatever you can! Thank you
