I really appreciate
that you are reading this. |
 |
So here is my question,
why has no one from the big lenders like Country Wide
and Bank of America been sent to prison over the home
mortgage crisis? Millions in default and millions in
foreclosure with entire neighborhoods falling apart in
cities like Cleveland and Detroit. |
 |
And I never thought it
would happen to me. |
 |
Worked hard since I was a
teenager and graduated from college. Spent 25 years in a
professional occupation until my employer decided to
transfer me across the country in 2008. Thanks to the
greedy people on Wall Street the home I had purchased
years earlier was now worth many tens of thousands less
than I paid for it. |
 |
I was brought up to
believe that paying your bills is important so I
struggled for two years to hang on making my rent
payment in a new city and paying the mortgage on my old
(empty) house as I watched it lose more and more value. |
 |
Eventually my mortgage
lender in Florida went bankrupt, and the loan was taken
over by OCWEN. They pushed me into foreclosure and sold
the house for less than the outstanding debt. I lost
almost $100,000 in equity and spent another $50,000
trying to maintain and save it. |
 |
My spouse gave up her job
and income as a result of moving and now I have no
equity left to use as a down payment to buy another
home. No savings left and no more home interest
deduction. |
 |
Please help me if you are
able to give regardless of the amount. Otherwise I’ll be
renting for the next ten years. I await your generosity.
Thank you.
