Hi, thank you very much for taking the time to read my story. 

I am a teacher who is currently laid off due to the tuff economy. 

I am substitute teaching and cutting wood to try and make it, but I have student loan debt and credit card debt from college.  These debts are starting to catch up to me and taking their toll.  By the time I drive to a school in our local county and then get taxes taken out, I make very little subbing.  I try to cut wood any day I don’t get a subbing job, but there is only so much wood to cut and sales have been slow. 

I am trying everything I can to get by and hoping and praying to get my job back next year, but I am having a tuff time right now.  I love teaching and love working with kids, but with the amount of teachers laid off and the cuts to education funding, I am starting to question my career decision.  If you could spare anything to help me out I would really appreciate it. 

This is the last request I thought I would ever be writing, and has been a very humbling experience.  Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story, and thanks in advance for anything you could do to help. 

P.S. even if you cannot afford to help, but you feel strongly about the education of our youth, take a minute to write your local congressman and tell them to stop cutting education funding and put our kids first.
