I have been diagnosed with polymyositis
 |
I am a 43 year old female who has been diagnose with a
rare muscle disorder called polymyositis. In June 2003
at the age of 38 I started to experience saver pains
in my body I went to many different specialist and
that's when I was diagnose with this muscle
disorder. At that time I had been working for almost 5
years at one of the worlds largest health care
providers . I was what you or any one would call and
excellent employee. 3 months while I was out on long
term disability I found out that employer terminated
my employment. (the company stated that they have the
right terminate any employee who has been out on
disability for more then 9 months in the state of
Texas) |
 | This is when my life
took a dramatic change I went from making 3500 a month
to now only getting 973.00 a month in social security
disability. It took me 3 years to get the 973.00 a
month which was not easy. I owe creditors and debts up
to 90,000 dollars. I know that the debts are mine but
the debtors and creditors do not understand my life
has change financially and physically because of this
muscle disorder. (All they care about is getting there
money).I will never be the same again or what
most people consider normal.I would give any thing to
just be able to go back and run again, or kneel down
on the floor, and get up by myself with out some one
having to help me up every time. |
 | No one really knows
how we are going to leave this precious earth but God.
I do know that all things are possible through him and
that's how I make it through each and every day.
Life is not promise to none of us so what we do today
can make a difference in our tomorrow. To all those
who can financially donate any amount to help me I am
truly grateful. Here is some in sight on the muscle
disorder that I have. Polymyositis is the
inflammation (i.e., irritation, pain, swelling, and
damage) of the muscles closest or proximal to the
trunk of the body (i.e., limb girdles, neck, and
pharynx). It is a progressive condition, with
periods of relapse (gets worse) and remissions (gets
better). |
