Aid this appreciative
post-college student
in overcoming my financial obstacles
 |
I'm usually quite a
self-reliant person, but the past year or so has left me
wading knees-deep through a swamp of obstacles that I
just can't seem to overcome on my own. I'm in the worst
financial situation of my life. I have and always will
be optimistic, however, but I do realize there are
people like you out there who could greatly aid me in
overcoming these problems. People like you who could
possibly empathize with the overly common human
condition I'm in, and possibly aid me in persevering
despite all the setbacks that seem to constantly be
thrown at me
|
 |
My story is a pretty
simple one really. I'm a young man who grew up in a
small town close to St. Louis, Missouri. When I was 9, I
was diagnosed with Cholesteatoma. I never viewed it as
any sort of handicap and really just adapted to the
periodic surgeries and hospital visits I'd have to
undergo in the years to come. |
 |
Despite the 'disease' I
dealt with, I went about life normally. After graduating
high school I enrolled in college. This, ironically, is
where my problem really begins. |
 |
College brought me some
good education but even more debt than I could have
possibly imagined. My first student credit card got
maxed out pretty quickly. A thousand dollars there.
|
 |
I then applied for a
personal student loan to help with living costs over the
next few years, so I could focus more on my studies.
Fourteen thousand dollars of debt there initially,
although as I type this it has amassed to over sixteen
thousand dollars due to interest. By the end of it,
adding in all student loan debts and credit card debts
acquired during the course of my time in college, I'm
over $28,000 in debt. |
 |
This is not including the
car payments I have to continually make, and the fact
that I cannot get my own health insurance due to me
having a previous medical condition. The disease I've
refused to let affect me for years is now financially
weighing down on me. The next surgery I might have to
have could cost me up to $15,000 alone, and according to
the doctors there is no foreseeable end in sight. I'll
always have to deal with that. |
 |
So here I am. In the most
loving way possible I ask of you to at least consider
helping me get on my feet, so I can once again steamroll
through the obstacles before me. |
 |
I want you to know that
however much you could donate is greatly appreciated -
and I will forever be touched and grateful beyond words
for your help! |
 |
Most of all, thank you
for your valuable time. |
