Greetings to everyone.  Let me start by saying that I am very grateful for what I have and feel very lucky that I'm healthy and have amazing opportunities around me.  Here is my story:

A few decades ago, there was a civil war in the Southeast Asian country of Cambodia.  Several factions were vying for power and an estimated 1.6 million people were killed.  My family was forced into internment camps under the Khmer Rouge regime.  My mother was pregnant with me, during this time.  She knew that there was little chance of survival, if they stayed.  So, showing immense courage, my family escaped on foot.  The literally dodged bullets and avoided land mines.  After crossing the border to Thailand, I was born in a hospital in Aranyaprathet.  Eventually, we were sponsored to come to America by a Christian charity and two very special families.  I was fortunate to come here, when I was only fourteen months old.

When I was growing up in America, I didn't realize all of the wonderful opportunity that I had.  I was a "normal" American teenager:  rebellious, full of angst, and just not knowing any better.  When I would get this way, my mother would sit me down and tell me stories of where we came from.  She always taught me to be grateful for what we have and that desire is driving force. 

She said, "In this world, you can have whatever you want...but you must want it bad enough."

Her birthday is today, November 13th. (this is the day, I started this website)

For the past few years, I have learned about acting and filmmaking.  I've thought about the different stories that I want to tell.  My burning desire is to tell my Mother's story, and to honor her.  We all know that movies take money.  So here I am, asking for help.
