At our first appearance in court my ex-wife vowed to destroy me and get me out of our son’s life. She ended my Air Force career early but luckily, not before I was able to retire. I survive on this pension. She took me to court repeatedly, as many as four times in one week, an average of three times a month.

The first commissioner made me pay all my ex-wife’s attorney fees and told me my ex-wife didn’t have to let me see our son as outlined in the court orders but I had to strictly obey the court’s orders. We now have a judge that appointed my ex-wife’s attorney to represent our son and he reiterated that my ex-wife didn’t have to let me see my son.

This attorney stuck me with a court order that didn’t allow me to work full time and reduced my time with our son to the minimum. I now see my son every other weekend, only. My ex-wife is an RN making well over $90,000 per year. I am very part-time employed as a substitute teacher, haven’t been able to afford an attorney for years, don’t own a car, and I am about $54,000 in debt. In addition, the state of California cut six billion dollars from education almost eliminating my part-time teaching job.

I’ve met a nice woman with two sons but she lives with her brother and I lost my house to the divorce and can’t buy another one with my ruined credit. Of course she can’t live with me in my tiny apartment. I just want to get my finances back on track and move on with my life by paying off my debts and buying a house. I also wish to start my own business helping others. I am a Christian currently helping a homeless man and I help neighborhood children and elderly through my church.
