My elderly 80 years old mother and me are facing illegal eviction.

We’d been suffering from loud noise and vibrations going from next door neighbor’s A/C since late May (every day, at a day time and at the night time) till October 2010. It kept us out of sleep and made us sick.

We asked our landlord to help us keep quiet, but she did nothing, saying that she was busy. Instead she sent us a 60 days notice to move out (despite of we pay the rent on time, and keep the place very clean).

My mother has many health problems, including dizziness, arthritis, and heart problems (plus history of heart attacks, and meningitis). She has a small (minimum) SSI benefits, and we are living in apartment where the owner accepts HUD, a low-income program.

The waiting lists can take years for a new low-income apartment.
The other way is to rent (just temporarily) a regular (not HUD) apartment, or to hire the attorney.. We can’t afford both. So we are facing to find ourselves in a street.

I suffer from Major Depression and Generalized anxiety disorder. In addition to depression I suffer from Encephalitis (brain inflammation) since age 21. Now I am 54 and have daily severe migraines attacks, and get diagnosed with Lung Hypertension (this is a horrible fatal diesis, with chest pain and shortness of breath (it is a form of cancer)), and with asthma. Also I have no money to go to the dentist, and I desperately need some dental work. The only medical help I get is county services, that doesn’t cover dental.

I don’t work and have no income at all. I’ve applied for disability and going through the process which takes the years to get approved.
We can’t face the prospect of being homeless with my mother’s poor health, and my bad lungs, unable to breath in cold air. We don’t have relatives, or anybody who could help us. Also I (as well as my mother) can’t drive, we don’t even have a car.

I never thought that things would come to this point, but I am in a desperate situation with no way out.

We need about $ 2500 for the deposit, moving expenses, and emergency dental that I have to have done.
